# Most frequently asked reactions of Inorganic reactions

Do you know there are around 12 heating reactions which come almost every year in PMT and IIT(Mains or advanced). It takes very little to remember these and the dividends these reactions pay are very high. Probably, you can’t find any other topic which is smaller than this and almost certainly gives you 3 or 4 marks in the entrance examination. Here is the list of reactions:

1. $NaN{{O}_{3}}\to NaN{{O}_{2}}+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}$  (same for potassium and other alkali metals except Lithium)
2. $2LiN{{O}_{3}}\to L{{i}_{2}}O+2N{{O}_{2}}+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}$
3. $Mg{{(N{{O}_{3}})}_{2}}\to MgO+2N{{O}_{2}}+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}$
4. $Pb{{(N{{O}_{3}})}_{2}}\to PbO+2N{{O}_{2}}+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}$
5. $Ba{{({{N}_{3}})}_{2}}\to Ba+3{{N}_{2}}$
6. $CaC{{O}_{3}}\to CaO+C{{O}_{2}}$
7. $LiC{{O}_{3}}\to L{{i}_{2}}O+C{{O}_{2}}$
8. $2NaHC{{O}_{3}}\to N{{a}_{2}}C{{O}_{3}}+{{H}_{2}}O+C{{O}_{2}}$
9. $N{{H}_{4}}N{{O}_{2}}\to {{N}_{2}}+2{{H}_{2}}O$ [Applicable even if heated as $N{{H}_{4}}Cl+NaN{{O}_{2}}$]
10. $N{{H}_{4}}N{{O}_{3}}\to {{N}_{2}}O+2{{H}_{2}}{{O}_{{}}}$  [Applicable even if heated as $N{{H}_{4}}Cl+NaN{{O}_{3}}$]
11. ${{(N{{H}_{4}})}_{2}}C{{r}_{2}}{{O}_{7}}\to {{N}_{2}}+4{{H}_{2}}O+C{{r}_{2}}{{O}_{3}}$ [Applicable even if heated as $N{{H}_{4}}Cl+{{K}_{2}}C{{r}_{2}}{{O}_{7}}$]
12. $2{{K}_{2}}C{{r}_{2}}{{O}_{7}}\to 2{{K}_{2}}Cr{{O}_{4}}+C{{r}_{2}}{{O}_{3}}+\frac{3}{2}{{O}_{2}}$
